We require payment on the day of consultation and ask that you give us at least 24hrs notice of cancellation or a fee may be charged (refer to cancellation policy at end of this section).
Private Health Fund Rebates
Nutrition Lab's dietitian's are registered providers for all major private health funds - which means you may be able to claim a rebate, depending on your level of cover. Rebates vary across health funds so please check with your individual health fund to determine your own eligibility for a rebate.Nutrition Lab also has the facility for electronic processing of health fund claims on the spot (HICAPS).
Medicare
In certain circumstances, Medicare rebates may be available through the Medicare Plus initiative for clients who have complex needs and are referred by their GP under a specific Team Care Plan.Nutrition Lab does not bulk bill for these services, and you will need to pay for your consultation up front and take the receipt back to Medicare for your rebate. Currently the rebate is $47.80 for each session.
Department of Veteran's Affairs (DVA)
Nutrition Lab's dietitians are providers for the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). This means that if you have a Gold card your consultation will be covered by the DVA with no out of pocket expenses to you. If you are DVA eligible, please remember to see your GP for a referral prior to seeing the dietitian.Our Cancellation Policy
For individual appointments and groups, we ask that you give us at least 24hrs notice for all cancellations or rescheduling of your appointments. A cancellation fee of 100% of the fee may be charged for missed appointments or appointments which are cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice.It is not our aim to make profits from cancellation fees, rather to make sure those appointment times are kept available for others who need them, and in order that you respect your dietitian's time.
We do appreciate that, in some circumstances, short notice may occasionally be unavoidable, and discretion will be exercised in such cases.
